Review: Better off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg

Better off FriendsBetter off Friends by Elizabeth Eulberg
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The day I finished Better of Friends, I immediately passed it to my 13-year-old niece to read. There aren't many YA contemporary books I've read that I felt I could do that with. But one of its many charms is that Better of Friends is totally okay for the younger teen crowd.

We meet Macallan and Levi at the start of seventh grade when they first meet each other and become friends, and follow them into the first few years of high school. A friendship that takes its time and feels authentic every step of the way. Levi and Macallan--as individuals and in their friendship--are likable and relatable and packed full of flaws. In other words, you'll love them.

They're best friends but are they just friends? Should they be more? Blimey! (you need to read the book to get the reference) Elizabeth Eulberg keeps you wondering are they better off friends, right up the very end. You have to read the book to find out!
