Review: THE STONEKEEPER (Amulet, Book 1) by Kazu Kibuishi

Amulet, Vol. 1: The Stonekeeper (Amulet, #1)Amulet, Vol. 1: The Stonekeeper by Kazu Kibuishi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With school starting back up I thought it was the perfect time to review THE STONEKEEPER, the first book in Kizu Kibiushi's Amulet series, one of my (and my soon-to-be 7yo's) top reads of the summer.

Back in May I was lucky enough to snag an advance copy of the sixth Amulet book (which just happens to release tomorrow!). And WOW. Even in the black and white illustrations of the early copy I could tell this was a series we needed to read, so it was off to the library to load up on the first few books.

The artwork is incredible. So incredible. Vivid colors, beautiful settings, fascinating creatures and characters. And the plot moves along at the perfect pace, making it easy to follow but a quick read that my 6yo and I loved. We blew through the first four books and can't wait to read the next two. If you're a fantasy fan, this series is a must read. A few pages into this first volume and you'll be hooked!
