You may have heard rumblings about a new "Kidlit" blog popping up this week--and this is it! You've found us! Welcome to the Kidliterati blog! Hooray!
But before we get to all of the incredible prizes we're giving away in celebration of our launch, let's take a minute to talk about Kidlit. What, exactly, does this term mean? Kidlit is pretty straightforward by definition: writings intended for MG and YA audiences. Technically, that's the correct definition . . . and yet, Kidlit is so much more than that.
Kidlit is writing that crystallizes those indelible moments in our young lives--the times that never really leave us: first friends, first loves, first loss. Kidlit reflects who we are and how we were, and challenges us as to what we will become. Kidlit, in a word, is magic.
For those of us contributing to this blog, Kidlit is a passion, both as readers and writers. We've created this blog with a single goal in mind: getting to the heart of MG & YA books. Our features range from reviews to interviews to exposition on craft and readers, but in all cases, our goal remains the same--drilling down to the magic behind the words, the concepts and themes that keep us turning pages and losing sleep. The magic of Kidlit.
Kidliterati Ten Interviews |
Our features will rotate each week, with new content every week. Be sure to check out the Kidliterati Ten, our special regular feature wherein we interview young readers about the books they love, including their questions for the authors (those answers you do not want to miss!).
We're thrilled to have you here, and to celebrate your arrival, we've put together an incredible launch giveaway (which starts Weds, July 10th)! Read on for the list of prizes, which include SIX fantastic ARCs and a whole slew of critiques from our agented and published authors (whom you can read more about here). We're happy to see you (this is us waving). Stop in and say hello!

ReplyDeleteThis blog just about covers everything kidlit I can think of! Superb.
ReplyDeleteYay! Kidlit is my favorite thing to read! I love the way it touches on all the big issues in an easily-accessible way, to catch and keep the attention of readers.

ReplyDeleteCool new site! I follow many of you on Twitter already, so I'll be interested to see your thoughts here.
ReplyDeleteI entered the giveaway with the first two "easy entries". Maybe I did something wrong, but I couldn't type in an answer for my first/second choice, so I'll leave it here just in case it matters. 1) THE DREAM THIEVES arc, 2) MG Contemporary Query Crit. Good luck with the new site, and thanks for the giveaway!
We have the issue straightened out now, but never fear, we got your info! ;)
DeleteCongrats on your new site! Looking forward all your great posts!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Another kidlit site! I just subscribed. I'm in on a kidlit launch this week (today) too and crossed tweets with you all. (emblazoners.wordpress.com) Best of luck!

ReplyDeleteFantastic site! Welcome to the amazing world of Group Blogging (I think some may call it Glogging?). :) So happy to see you all around and can't wait to see what all you have in store! Happy Launch Day - we just launched YA Buccaneers last week, so congrats on making the maiden voyage!
ReplyDeleteHappy Launch Day and Congrats! :)
ReplyDeleteYay - excited for another good kidlit blog to follow!
ReplyDeleteHi! Congrats on the new launch--gonna keep my eyes on you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the launch! I love the magic and wonder of middle grade, and all the first time feelings that go with YA. :)
ReplyDeleteI put that I follow the blog in the raffle, but when I went to follow with google friends connect, it wouldn't let me!
There seem to be some troubles with Google Friends Connect. From what I've read, Google is trying to get bloggers to use a Google+ widget now, but we prefer not to make people have a Google+ account, so we used the old widget. My best advice is to clear your cache and try to join again. There's a lot of info on help forums, but no one seems *entirely* sure how to resolve the issue you're having. But we're glad you're here! :D
DeleteCongrats on the new site. I love the innocence, adventure and life lessons you can impart all in the one kidlit story.
DeleteI love middle grade because it's that delicate spot between childhood and adolescence when everything changes.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blog Launch!! I love all things YA, so I'm thrilled to follow you here and on Twitter!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy blog launch! So excited to read what you all have to say here. xoox Amy
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found you. Thanks twitter. I write, breathe, and raise MG.
ReplyDeleteI'm super excited about your new blog. It looks fantastic! I've added it to my Google Reader (oops...may Google Reader RIP), I mean Feedly RSS feed so I never miss a post!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the launch! I love everything kidlit, and I'm so glad I found you. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Looks like a great new site. Wishing you all the best with it!
ReplyDeleteI've been hearing the twitter-whispers about this site for some time! Now it's a full on shout and I love it! :D
