K10: Beetle Boy by M.G. Leonard

The Kidliterati Ten is an interview series with young readers. We ask them about a favorite book and hope that you enjoy their answers.

Tell us a little about yourself: what is your first name, how old are you, and what is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
My name is Nora, I am 11 years old, and my favorite ice cream flavor is Mexican chocolate.

What book did you read and why did you choose it?
I chose Beetle Boy. I chose it because the hero wasn't a dog or anything, it was a beetle! Also how it's the kind of book where you go "wow!!" when you figure something out and it's awesome!

Can you describe this book in one word?
AMAZING!!

What was your favorite part of this story?

My favorite part was when the boy met the beetle. It was so cool!

If you had a problem similar to the main character's problem, what would you do?

I would convince my uncle to help find my father or do it myself.

What would you say to your best friend to convince them to read this book?
It's so cool! There's this boy and his father goes missing from inside a locked room. Then the boy finds this beetle. Then he and his friends find more beetles and try to save his dad. It's sooo gripping!

What do you think about the book's cover?
Awesome!!

Would you want to read another book about these characters? Why or why not?
I would totally want to because the story is totally not over yet. I'm sooo happy there is another book coming out! Beetle Queen here I come!

Can you name another book that reminds you of this one?
Nope, this book is unique.

If you could ask the author one question about this book, what would it be? When is the next one coming out? But also maybe where did she get this amazing idea?

Thanks, Nora!
